When poultry mortality is no longer the problem that characterised the summer periods, as facilities and management have improved and mitigated this adverse effect, trying to increase feed intake, the main victim at that time, becomes the next objective. Feed intake is a key element in maintaining a high level of performance. When this crucial factor deteriorates, zootechnical and economic performance decreases.
